Upcoming Events and Important Announcements ~The last day of school has changed due to snow days and delay days. The last day of school, which will also be our end of the year celebration is on Thursday, June 13th. Because the afternoon class needs to make up an additional day they will be offered one additional day of school on Friday, June 14th.

On Tuesday our schedule is the following..... 1:30-2:30 Loose Parts Play Act out a storyThenchildren enjoy the space and freedom provided by nature to explore the outdoors and play with friends under the big pine trees. 2:45 Final Meeting~Tea and a storySing the “Good bye song”, All friends leave school and are dismiss from outside
On Wednesdays our schedule is the following..... Hike Teachers carefully plan a hike that has just the right amount of adventure and challenge for the children in the class. Once we get to our destination we talk about our focus for the day and explore our new spot.Meeting under the pine treesAt this final meeting of the day we will discuss what we learned on the hike through "go arounds"We will read stories pertaining to our hike, and we will think about the things we saw and did while sipping tea. 2:45 Sing the “Good bye song”, All friends leave school and are dismissed from outside
On Thursdays our schedule is the following..... 1:30 Group GameWe work on body awareness, following directions, working as a team and thinking of others all while having tons of fun outdoors! 1:45-2:30 Woods time in our outdoor classroomStructured timeThis is a time where teachers tell stories, we act out stories and use our imaginations during whole group teacher led activities Free playChildren enjoy many different imaginative variations of dramatic play, climbing on fallen trees, exploring the woods,following and identifying animal tracks, finding secret spots to call their own and the list goes on.....End our time by saying a thanks to the woods at our stumps 2:45 Walk to the bus and pick up, all friends leave school
On Fridays our schedule is the following..... At morning meeting a Literacy lesson is given on the rug (preparation for journal time)We gather on the rug as a class while the teacher gives a lesson on the journal topic of that day. The topic for journal is carefully chosen by the teacher with the interests of the children in mind.This lesson includes modeling how to draw with detail and purpose while using a proper pencil grip. Teachers also talk about letters, their sounds, and putting letters together to form words. 1:25-1:40-Journal time at table 1:45-2:40 playground 2:40 Gather for tea and a story 2:45 Sing our good bye song, All friends leave school and are dismissed from outside
