Upcoming Events and Important Announcements
~The last day of school has changed due to snow days and delay days.  The last day of school, which will also be our end of the year celebration, is on Thursday June 13th.  
We hope to see you there.

AM Daily Schedule 2018-19


Each day upon arrival children will follow this same routine.....
8:15 Arrival
Hang up things
Sign in
Wash hands
Sit for breakfast

8:20-8:35  Breakfast
(Elaina’s break 8:30-9:15)
Eat
Clean up, wash dishes
Brush teeth
Children get called for bathroom turn

8:35-9:15 Work Time
Time spent in the various areas of the classroom working with friends.  
Areas include: the library, puzzles and games, dramatic play, art area, manipulatives,sensory table & listening center
This is also a time where we work on teacher directed indoor projects

9:30-10:30 Outdoors





On Tuesday our schedule is the following.....
9:30-10:25  Loose Parts Play
We act out a story we have been learning then children enjoy the space and freedom provided by nature to explore the outdoors and play with friends under the big pine trees.  

10:30 Clean up and walk back to classroom and wash hands

10:35-10:45 Tea Time and a Story at the table
Children sit down at the table to enjoy a warm cup of tea with their friends while they calm their bodies and transition back into the classroom.  During this time a teacher may tell a story, or we may discuss as a class what types of things we enjoyed doing outside that day.

10:45-11:00 Peace
Songs, games and stories to help us gather together and transition into lunch time

11:00-11:25 Lunch

11:30-11:40 Last Meeting
We review our day and sing the good bye song in preparation for leaving school
11:45- All friends leave school

On Wednesday our schedule is the following.....
9:30-10:30 Hike
10:30-10:45 Tea Time and a story
10:40-10:50 Peace
10:50-11:00 Yoga
11:00-11:25 Lunch
11:30-11:40 last Meeting
11:45- All friends leave school


On Thursdays our schedule is the following.....
9:30 Group Game: We work on body awareness, following directions, working as a team and thinking of others all while having tons of fun outdoors!
9:45-10:45 Woods time in our outdoor classroom
Structured time: This is a time where teachers tell stories, we act out stories and use our imaginations during whole group teacher led activities
Free play: Children enjoy many different imaginative variations of dramatic play, climbing on fallen trees, exploring the woods, following and identifying animal tracks, finding secret spots to call their own and the list goes on.....
10:45 End our Forest time with tea on our stumps
10:50 Return to classroom, wash hands, sit for lunch
11:00-11:25 Lunch
11:30-11:40 Last meeting
11:45- All friends leave school

On Fridays our schedule is the following.....
9:15 At morning meeting a Literacy lesson is given on the rug (preparation for journal time) We gather on the rug as a class while the teacher gives a lesson on the journal topic of that day.  The topic for journal is carefully chosen by the teacher with the interests of the children in mind.  This lesson includes modeling how to draw with detail and purpose while using a proper pencil grip.  Teachers also talk about letters, their sounds, and putting letters together to form words.

10:50-11:00 Transitional meeting
